Hong Kong Pools For Cooling Down This Summer

Hong Kong summers are brutal – between the blazing sun and insufferable humidity, we can sometimes barely muster the energy to even leave the house. Thankfully, there are plenty of ways to cool down in this city of extremes – and one of the best is a quick dip in the pool. Whether you want to swim a few laps or just lounge poolside, here are the best hongkong pools for cooling down this summer.

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, a trip to Rosewood Hong Kong’s stunning rooftop pool is the way to go. Aside from offering incredible skyline views, the pool is surrounded by comfy lounge chairs and a bar so you can grab a refreshing drink while lounging in the water. You can also work up a sweat in the hotel gym before heading to the pool for some well-deserved relaxation.

If luxury is your thing, you can’t go wrong with a pool day at the luxurious Island Shangri-La. Located right in the heart of Central, the hotel’s outdoor pool has been designed to feel like an oasis in the city – with a palm tree-lined avenue, a Jacuzzi and lots of poolside cabanas where you can relax. You can even get your own personal pool butler to make your experience at this stunning hotel pool truly memorable!

While there are many gorgeous public swimming pools in Hong Kong, this one might be the most beautiful of them all. The Man Cheung Po (or 10,000 Feet Waterfall) pool is a series of crystal clear pools and waterfalls located in the village of Tai O in the New Territories, and is accessible via a scenic hike that’s perfect for families with kids. This beautiful natural pool is considered to be a ‘must-visit’ destination for locals and tourists alike!

The Kowloon Park swimming pool was built as part of a redevelopment and expansion project that was completed in 1989. It was originally operated by the Urban Council but when the council was disbanded in 2000, management of New Territories pools was transferred to the Regional Council (RegCo).

Located at the 118th floor of the International Commerce Center – aka, the top of one of Hong Kong’s tallest skyscrapers – the Ritz Carlton’s indoor pool is truly something special. Complete with floor to ceiling windows, mirrored ceilings and LED walls that showcase an illusion of coral reefs, a dip in this pool is sure to make you feel like you’re swimming among the clouds.

While the pool is open to non-hotel guests, we highly recommend checking out a staycation package at this luxurious 5-star hotel through Klook. You can enjoy access to the hotel’s stunning rooftop pool as well as a deluxe room and daily breakfast. And if you’re planning to move to Hong Kong, make sure to keep an eye out for housing developments that have pools! Larger apartment developments with several towers usually have an outdoor pool while smaller single-tower complexes may only offer a small indoor pool.
